My 7th grade art teacher was really instrumental in sparking an interest in drawing for me. There was one class in particular where we took turns posing for everyone else to draw which for some reason made me feel like yeah this is probably what I want to do forever. Unlike the other ambitions I had at the time (being a famous actor/biologist/Jedi Knight) that one stuck.

I started working on a lot of comics and writing projects that year and I didn't actually finish any of it but it was good practice. Star Wars was a big deal for me at the start of the year but after a while I branched out into original stuff. Star Fox64, X-Men, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and newspaper comics like Foxtrot and Bloom County were also big influences at the time.
