2012
I started working on finishing my BFA finally and my first semester was spent mostly studying (go figure) and working on a couple of professional gigs. I did get very into doodling in my notebook which made me get a lot more accurate at drawing in pen/in general so not all was lost. I was feeling burnt out on art forums and there wasn't really any other substantial online communities to take their place since most people had switched to Tumblr and other more modern platforms where communication wasn't as much of a factor. So while I did a few trades here and there most of the stuff I was working on for fun was either my original work or commissions. My interest in Japanese history and in particular stories about samurai was at an all-time high and I was really influenced by that and looking at woodblock prints by artists like Kikuchi Yosai and Utagawa Kuniyoshi.
