I didn't do a whole lot of art at the beginning of the year but I started high school in the fall and my obsession took off again as I tried to figure that whole situation out. We had to keep a sketchbook for art class which mushroomed into me filling them up as fast as I could. I also started taking oil painting classes at the art center a couple towns over which opened my eyes to totally new concepts and ways of working (even if I was mostly making mud at the time). My biggest discovery though was artists' websites online and through them early social media sites for artists like Side7 and Elfwood.

My interest in anthros was pretty high and I made up a lot of characters, most of whom were jackals which was my favorite animal. I was doing a lot of work in marker and/or colored pencil but I also started my first experiments with digital painting via a program we had called Ulead Photoimpact.
